Who I Help

As an LGBTQIA+ and relationship minority affirming therapist, I am dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive space for individuals of all backgrounds. My passion lies in supporting those navigating anxiety disorders, OCD, life transitions, mood disorders, depression, grief & loss, religious trauma, sex-related problems, racial trauma, and older adult related concerns. As a biracial, neurodivergent woman with lived experience in some of these areas, I am honored to be a part of your journey to self-discovery and healing.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Because of the overall lack of knowledge around the different ways OCD can present itself, it can often leave a person feeling isolated, trapped, and sometimes terrified of themselves. Whether your obsessions deal with contamination, checking, intrusive thoughts of harm, moral/religious scrupulosity, or anything else, my goal is to help you navigate your unique experience.

To treat OCD, I draw mostly upon the therapeutic modality Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Additionally, mindfulness techniques play a significant role in our sessions, promoting awareness and acceptance of the present moment. Together, we will explore the roots of your OCD, identify triggers, and work on tailored strategies (often exposures) to face your obsessions head on within a safe setting.

Life Transitions

Let's be real--change and life transitions can be TERRIFYING. Especially if they come about suddenly or unwillingly. My goal is to offer you a supportive, safe environment in navigating whatever transition you are experiencing. I often pull from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques to do this. No matter what this transition may look like for you, I want you to know that you will have someone by your side to support you through it.

Anxiety

Struggling with relentless panic, racing anxious thoughts, or paralyzing fear? I am committed to supporting you. When treating anxiety disorders, I often will utilize CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and grounding techniques to promote freedom from anxiety's terrifying grips. Only if it's helpful to you, I can also pull from my own lived experience with anxiety. My approach will always be tailored to your unique needs.

What Can You Expect?

When you are in therapy with me, my number one priority is that you feel you have a space where you can come as you are, free from judgement, and feel genuinely both heard and understood. I am here to provide you with whatever you need and I trust that you know what that is best.

Need to decompress and listen to your favorite playlist for an entire session? Go for it. Need to pull a Meredith/Christina and "dance it out" in the middle of a session? Let's do it. Your needs and comfort are my number one priority within our therapeutic space together.

Witnessing the transformative power of therapy is incredibly gratifying, and I believe all of us can benefit from it. I know I have. I feel privileged to be a part of someone else's journey to healing, growth, and self-discovery.

When I'm not at Open Space CCW, you may also find me...

Going to metalcore concerts, hanging out with my cat (her name is Elle Woods), and watching trashy reality TV (likely Dance Moms).
